LPP-AIK UMJ Holds Hafizh Scholarship Development
Vice Rector IV UMJ, Dr. Septa Candra, SH, MH, (center) in coaching activities for students receiving the Hafizh Al-Qur'an scholarship, at the UMJ Pioneer I Building, Tuesday, (12/09/2023).The Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta (UMJ) Institute for the Study and Application of Al-Islam Kemuhammadiyahan (LPP-AIK) is holding training for students receiving Hafizh Al-Qur'an scholarships. This activity was carried out in order to record the increase in Qur'an memorization of scholarship recipients, at the UMJ Pioneer I Building, Tuesday, (12/09/2023).
Chairman of LPP-AIK UMJ, Drs. Fakhurozi, MA., explained that this coaching activity was a discussion space aimed at finding out the development of memorizing the Qur'an. "UMJ Tahfiz must develop, such as from 3 juz to 5 juz until later it can be 30 juz. "So that the tahfiz can become one unit that gives color to UMJ," said Fakhurozi.
Furthermore, Fakhurozi conveyed that there was cooperation between LPP-AIK UMJ and Ustaz Adi Hidayat's Qur'an memorization foundation. Later, the UMJ hafiz scholarship recipients will receive mentoring to memorize 30 Juz of the Qur'an using Ust's At-Taisir memorization method. Adi Hidayat, so that he is able to become a mentor for students in their respective faculties.
"This is in accordance with the Islamic campus program that UMJ is aiming for. "And the participants are expected to become ambassadors for the Islamic campus," he added.
The same thing was said by the Deputy Chancellor IV of UMJ, Dr. Septa Candra, SH, MH, namely UMJ is committed to university regulations to provide scholarships to memorizers of the Qur'an. According to Septa, it is very possible that within four years, students will be able to memorize 10 juz.
"We want in the future that UMJ hafiz will get better and more fluent, we will create branding that the UMJ campus is a campus for memorizing the Qur'an so that there will be lots of recitation activities and memorizing the Qur'an in every faculty. We hope that with coaching like this, LPP-AIK will have data from year to year and there will be an increase in memorization. "The minimum for one year is 1 juz," said Septa.
There are 69 students receiving Hafiz Qur'an scholarships from various faculties. The form of coaching for UMJ Hafiz scholarship recipients is that students are required to become AIK mentors in each faculty, evaluate Al-Qur'an memorization, mentoring and recitation, become Islamic campus ambassadors, and be active in every Islamic activity. This activity was held online and offline, attended by 52 participants.
