UMJ Faculty of Engineering Holds 60th Anniversary
The Faculty of Engineering , University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta (FT UMJ ) held a peak celebration of its 60th anniversary, in the Djoeanda Hall of FT UMJ, Tuesday, (05/09/2023). This anniversary event was also a place to launch FT's new vision, namely to become an Engineering Faculty that excels in developing design, engineering and technological innovation based on Islamic values.
Dean of FT UMJ, Ir. Irfan Purnawan, ST., M. Chem.Eng., said that at the age of 60, FT must rise to achieve excellence and progress. “This achievement must be done together, even with stake holders . "The target for next year is that FT can carry out internationalization and modernization, so of course there must be contributions from all parties," said Irfan.
The same thing was expressed by the Deputy Chancellor II of UMJ, Dr. Ir. Mutmainah, MM. He told about his journey studying at FT UMJ in 1989 and felt the excitement of FT's 25th anniversary.
“60 years of travel is not a short time. I happened to be on that trip. FT has experienced extraordinary golden times, as well as times of illness. But thank God, thanks to our will and extraordinary fighting power, we were able to get through it. I hope we all realize that this is our home, so fight, increase your work ethic, gratitude, and reduce your sense of complaining. "At the age of 60, let's be reborn with innovation and works that color UMJ," said Mutmainah.
Established in 1963, the series of events for the FT's 60th anniversary began with an open Senate meeting. Irfan explained that FT's Main Performance Indicators (IKU) have increased in recent years, including the number of collaborations with other institutions, additional increases in lecturer functional positions, the percentage of students who achieved achievements, and other KPIs.
On the same occasion, the head of the FT UMJ Electric Fleet Cart (Geatik) team which received the 2023 Kedaireka Matching Fund grant, Eka Samsul Ma'arif, ST, MT, explained the development of Geatik. "Thankfully, now the cart prototype has been finished, and in December we will carry out tests regarding the weight of the mass that can be transported and battery testing. "The hope is that it can pass the test and be accepted in the market so that next year we can realize its commercialization," said Eka.
The peak excitement of the FT anniversary event was also filled with awards to seven FT lecturers who had received doctoral degrees, including Dr. Mohammad Imamuddin in the field of civil engineering, Dr. Ir. Heri Khoeri, MT, in the field of civil engineering, Dr. Ar. Dedi Hantono, ST, MT, in the field of doctorate in architecture, Dr. Haris Isyanto, ST, MT, in the field of electrical engineering with a specialization in telecommunications, Nelfiyanti, ST, M.Eng., Ph.D., in the field of manufacturing science, Dr. Ir. Umi Marfuah, MM, MT, in the field of industrial engineering, and Dr. Wiwik Sudarwati, ST, MT, in the field of industrial engineering.
The event continued with giving prizes to participants in competitions held by FT as a series of anniversary events, namely the FT UMJ sing a song , volleyball, table tennis, badminton, student quiz, PS, and MTQ competitions. FT's 60th anniversary was attended by the FKM dean, FIK dean , along with the deputy deans, Senate Chair and UMJ Senate Secretary.
