UMJ POR Students Win 2nd Place in Tapak Suci National Championship

Yazid Hanif Kurniawan won 2nd place in the empty hand category at the Tapak Suci Semar V Inter Perti National Championship at Sebelas Maret University (UMS) FOKR Gym, Friday (6/10/23).

Tapak Suci Putera Muhammadiyah Branch 14 Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) athlete Yazid Hanif Kurniawan succeeded in winning second place in the empty hand category at the National Tapak Suci Semar V Inter-Perti Championship at Sebelas Maret University (UMS) FOKR Gym , Friday (6/10/ 23).

This championship will take place from 4 to 8 October 2023, attended by 234 participants from 23 public and private universities throughout Indonesia. Yazid, a Sports Education student at the UMJ Faculty of Education (POR FIP UMJ) took part in two categories at once, namely men's single-armed and empty-handed singles.

Responding to this, the Chair of the FIP UMJ Sports Education Study Program, Dr. Doby Parlindungan, M.Pd., expressed his pride in Yazid's achievements. "This is a gift for UMJ, that there are still many students who have potential and achievements," concluded Doby

Yazid expressed his happiness over his achievements. He said this championship was a trial as preparation for taking part in the Tapak Suci International Championship.

"In the future, I hope to be able to represent West Java in the Tapak Suci International Championship," said Yazid when interviewed via short message.

In another session, the general chairman of Tapak Suci Putera Muhammadiyah Branch 14 UMJ, Oloan Syukur Harahap advised all Tapak Suci and Yazid athletes to still be able to take part in other competitions. He also hopes that the campus can continue to support Tapak Suci UMJ athletes.
